- The GE OEC 9800 first launched in 1999, and the upgraded version, the GE OEC 9800 plus, introduced in 2002. It was finally discontinued in 2006 just before the GE C ARM manufacturing facility in Utah claimed the recall by FDA in 2006. There has been no successor of the GE OEC 9800 since 2006.
The GE OEC 9800 Plus is the gold standard in mobile fluoroscopy applications and innovative X-ray imaging technology. The OEC 9800 Plus offers full 1k2 high-resolution imaging on a mobile system. It features proprietary image I.Q. for uncompromised image quality. The 9800 Plus has an enhanced mechanical design which is ideal for a wide range of applications It provides solutions for the most demanding needs in pain management, general, orthopedic, vascular, neurovascular, and cardiac surgeries. This Mobile C-arm is the benchmark for fluoroscopy applications and X-ray technology with its touch-screen operations, crisp and clear images, low X-ray dosage, and a 15 kW generator. This C-arm has broken the barrier traditionally reserved for contemporary fixed-room imaging systems.

GE OEC C-Arm training courses to fit your needs and budget
1-day course
Some times facility is not very large. It does not have many machines. Facility may have one or two bio-Med engineers that maintains machine to the basic level. Facility would like to train their engineer to do annual PM. This unique course will fit their need. In this course, we will provide list of all the required Tools and Test Equipment to do a proper PM. We will down load GE PM form from GE website. I will completely explain FDA regulations and requirements regarding PM. We will use facility machine and complete the PM while teach the engineer how to do an annual PM. After training not only the Bio Med Engineer will be trained but also annual PM on machine will also be completed.
1-week COMPLETE SYSTEM course 9800/9900
Due to budget constraints, customer may not be able to afford 2 weeks full system training. In that case customer would prefer this course. In this course customer will receive complete system training with less hands on time. But still be enough for engineers to be able to comfortably work on machines. However it is shorter version of two week full system course.
Course lay out
Prerequisites To attend this course, Engineers must have good fundamental knowledge and understanding of the principles of X-Ray and Basic Electronics and computer user skills. This course is designed to provide best quality training for 9800 or 9900 to maintain these system according to manufacturer specifications. This course ensures that Preventive maintenance is done properly. Complete generator calibration, Beam alignment, imaging chain calibration is performed properly. All the voltage adjustments are performed properly. During theory and troubleshooting period, it is ensured that only bad components are replaced. All troubleshooting and parts replacement are performed according to manufacturer guide line. This training not only ensures that the equipment continues to meet all design, performance and reliability but at the completion of this training class, students will: Understand 9900 System Operation, Understand the function and location of major system components. Perform Preventive Maintenance. Know the error codes and their explanation. Engineer will be able to save files from system and make changes and save them back into the system. Engineer will know how to use Utility Suite. Will be able to load software. Theory and hands-on sessions will develop the skills necessary to troubleshoot system failures and restore it to operation. Calibrate and adjust all components of the X-ray generator, imaging chain and workstation
Note: We will come one day before and check the machine performance and make ready for class. Check the class room readiness projector, the board to write on, lead aprons and other environment safety.
NOTE: Due to copyright laws, students are required to purchase and bring copy of GE OEC's Service Documentation CD. We will provide the latest part number for Service CD. Student will also download and bring with them Word copy of the PM Form that GE uses. We will provide the link to download parts manual from GE. Student should bring copy of parts manual with them. Customer can also use any Documentation of their own (in case someone from facility had been to GE training)
